Thank you for reading Rita Surfs The World! I’ve started this site to document my travels, wherever that may lead me! There is something about the feeling of being somewhere new that makes me want to discover as many places that I can.

Who is Rita? Rita is what many call me when I am working. In May of 2015, I opened a drive-thru daiquiri bar in little ol’ Surfside Beach, Texas called Surfin Rita Daiquiris To-Go. I would soon find out that people love drive-thru daiquiris and they loved me too! If you’re so inclined, head over to my business Facebook page here. Rita is my logo/mascot if you will and the number one question I get asked is “Are you Rita?” It soon became easier to just say, “Yes, that’s me, thank you for coming!”

Who is the girl behind Rita? My name is actually Marissa and I’m a twenty-something native Texan who has always yearned to travel. I love dancing, playing with my dogs, reading(which I also blog about) and always having a smile on my face.  My success with my business opened up the door for me to begin taking some pretty great trips! I’ve traveled throughout the US while growing up but my first trip abroad happened in the fall of 2015 and that yearning to travel turned into a deep seeded need to see the world. I have a “Places to Go” list that is always growing and I love being able to cross a new place off of there. I’m excited to see where my travels take me next!
